you know, ive noticed latetly that tray and pop lid systems, have different afects on their CD's, for example CD,s that are for tray systems last longer than a pop lid..
pop lid systems keeps te CD secure an atached bt its risky i the user *like me* is buter fingers and removes the CD or
iserts it very suglishly due to theamount of space u get to
work within the area
trays istead give u more amount of space, and on top of that, the CD's seem to last longer
so ive brain stormed to see if a DC can have a tray than pop lid, so CD's can be perserved, and it actually can..
first of cd-rom/dvd ect trays cant be modified to read gd-roms
katana cd-rom drives system are slower, the wires are not compatible to dc and its a paint to figure an soldier all that stuff
so i figuered why not have the tray slide out the gd-rom reader instead?..but i tried to find a cable long enough to
reach from dc to tray, and i duno if those are sold realy long

Nice project, but I don't know about the cable and the lengths it can be bought at, ask the guys at Bestbuy im sure they would know. If you can't find one that long maybe you should just combine 2 <-- A pain but it would work...
